DRUMPAINTINGDRUMPAITING It allows to transform live sound into moving image, thus realizing an idea of "colour music" on a modern technological level. CYLAND Lab announces Call for Projects in New Media, Video, Net and Cyber Arts. Authors of approved projects will receive an invitation to come in CYLAND Multimedia Lab (Kronstadt Art residency of NCCA) for implementation of their project.
![]() During the performance musician plays several percussion instruments (in a video fragment was used only toy drum, shooting was done on a development stage). Signal from each drum is transmitted to a computer. Custom software transforms it into an image (graphical data prepared by the artist beforehand).
CYLAND Medialaboratory is a new artistic laboratory created by St. Petersburg branch of National Center for Contemporary Art in cooperation with St. Petersburg Arts Project Fund, New-York. Together, it is a hospitable residence for the artists of the whole world, who would like to use new technologies in an artistic way. The project is created by Anna Frants and Marina Koldobskaya.
